The latest series from Codemasters range of rally games is leading the genre and setting the new revolution in racing games. While there have been a wide range of racing games lately, Colin McRae DIRT is a show stunner of it's own as the 2 years into development have shown where the new era of gaming is headed. The vehicles are beautifully rendered and tuning of each individual vehicles are indepth, similiar to Forza and Grand Turismo series. Being one of the only few games that actually details the wear and tear of the vehicles as we put them through treacherous terrains, expect an ultra realistic graphical experience of rally driving. Vehicles exhibit metal dents, smashes windows and windscreens, falling bumpers and flying tyres so if you are looking for something different from all those racing games that demands "Perfect" driving and "Perfect" cornering, try DIRT.

Tried and tested in the first few amateur races, clipping a 2 ton 4WD race truck into a stationary sign board would ripped the front tyres and suspensions straight out incapacitating the vehicle instantaneously. The feel of the vehicles are somehow a bit bouncy and seems to be like floating on a cushion of air, however subsequent tuning to the vehicle set up does the trick. Going clean through a race seem to bag rewards but in a game like this, where's the fun without the crashes and PIT maneuvers to overtake those irritating AIs that are all around. Gameplay is fast and furious where everything happens so fast you'd hardly have a chance to appreciate the scenery and landscape. Not to fret too much here as always there's the replay video to capture all the thrills and spills and also to inspect the amazingly rendered terrains and landscape.

Overall this game scores big time across the racing genres and is definitely a hit until another untra realistic racing game comes out with an even more fantastic crash sequence.
